Summer Holiday Club 2018 Bookings Open

Hi All

We're now able to take bookings for Summer Holiday Club 2018.  We've loads of exciting activities and adventures planned!


Wednesday 25th July to

Thursday 26th July

Relax and Play – including a trip to Felix Road Adventure Playground and a Graffiti Workshop

Tuesday 31st July to 

Thursday 2nd August

Sun, Sand and Water – including a trip to Weston-Super-Mare and a picnic in the park

Tuesday 21st August to

Thursday 23rd August

Summer Festival – including a wet felt workshop a drum workshop and a festival party

Tuesday 28th August to

Thursday 30th August

Eco-week - including a trip to Bristol Botanical Gardens and a Litter Arty workshop

Monday 3rd September

Greeks and Romans day – including sculpture making, cooking and dancing!

You'll find all the details about each day in the attached document along with a booking form which must be returned with the booking.
As usual, places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Whitsun & Inset Day Holiday Club Bookings Open

For the Whitsun Holiday Club we will be celebrating International Children's day and have themed our activities accordingly.

We have one of the children's favourites returning with the bike powered scalextric, a trip to the lovely 'Felix Road Adventure Playground', a sports and team day and finally for the inset day we have a workshop from Circomedia along with Grupo Mamarracho and will end the day with a show performed by the children.

As usual, we have limited places so please book quickly!

Thursday 1st / 2nd March Club Closure & Snow Day Friday 2nd March

Ashley down and Brunel schools will be shut today (1st March)  from 1pm due to the weather conditions.

The management of Ashley down after school club has decided to be closed as well today and tomorrow for After School Clubs for the safety of the children and staff.

If your child was due to attend today 1st and/or 2nd of March to the afterschool club session you will receive a refund/account credit.

Snow Day – Friday 2nd March

We are pleased to say that we are able to offer a Snow Day tomorrow

The club would start at 8.30am at our usual site in Muller Road and end at 3.15pm at a cost of £20;

We will only be able to take 16 children, first come first served –please reply to this email and you will be advised if you have a place.

If your children are coming to the club they need to bring a packed lunch and snacks.

To enjoy the snow (which they will....) they need a warm coat, wellies, hat, gloves and spare clothes (especially socks) in a clearly marked bag.

We are recruiting for Play Workers

Ashley Down After School Club is

recruiting Play Workers!


We are looking for dynamic, energetic individuals to work in our after school club. Applicants will preferably have experience of working with primary aged children in a play setting and be great at communicating with children and their parents.  The play staff work as a close team and we will be looking for people who can bring specific interests; for example in art and crafts or sports activities.


2.45-6.15pm each Monday to Wednesday, term time only.


This post is term time only and could also include additional shifts each week to cover staff absence, training etc. There is also the potential for work during the holiday play scheme (depending on demand)


£8.20 per hr


A relevant level two qualification in Playwork would be an advantage.

Ashley Down After School Club is

recruiting Volunteers!


You will gain experience working with primary aged children in a play setting, developing skills of communication with children and their parents. The club facilitates a wide variety of workshops and a variety of activities and sports. 

 You will be working closely with a professional play work team with a chance to use your initiative and skills (children ranging in age from 4 to 11).

We would like to help you to progress further into your career with an induction and ongoing training (child protection, first aid course, food hygiene, arts workshops).
